So the holidays are rolling up faster than you realize, like wasn’t it just July yesterday?
Suddenly the pressure is on, you gots to have that perfect gift for the company Secret Santa, neighborhood gift swap… don’t even get me started on presents to ACTUAL FAMILY MEMBERS!!!
If you find yourself entering the holidays short on time and even shorter on inspiration, you are me. Hello, twin!
I’ve actually spent the year bookmarking random fun things on Amazon to share with you in your time of need. The best thing about shopping on Amazon is Amazon Prime free shipping, Christmas alone makes Prime worth the cost for me. I heart you Amazon!!
So here’s my list, enjoy, and I hope it boosts your inspiration!
10. AvoSeedo Bowl Grow your own Avocado Tree
We all have that one coworker who is always trying to offer you the other half of their avocado, right? Or is that just me and my office?
Either way, this avocado growing seed boat looks way cooler than the porcupine toothpick method you’ve seen on windowsills across America. Your Secret Santa wants this so so bad
If you don’t immediately see why this gift is amazing, I’m not sure an explanation from me will help. Triceratops Taco holder… dinosaurs + food = awesome?
Trust me, you want to be the person who didn’t order off your friend’s wedding registry, you WANT to be that guest who went rogue. You want to give someone some Jurassic fiesta flair. Just trust me.
8. Green Coaster Set with Flower Pot Shaped Holder
Here we have a set of six coasters that doubles as a houseplant you can’t kill. Each day is an opportunity to resculpt the plant into various shapes and arrangments… who came up with this? Whoever you are, you’re brilliant.
7. Exploding Kittens: A Card Game About Kittens and Explosions and Sometimes Goats
A couple years ago one of the kids made an accidental Amazon purchase and we received this mystery package on our doorstep. It was all very exciting. It takes a couple rounds to grasp what’s going on, but that is actually part of the fun (well that and beard cat, he’s also pretty fun). If you need a game for any age group, let me steer you in this direction.
6. Shwings Wings For Shoes (Silver)
I have these bad boys on all my running shoes, they make me look so cool (no seriously, little kids tell me this all the time). They also make adults stop and ask “So do the wings make you faster?” the answer to that is a definite Yes! If your previous pace was “couch potato” then no matter the pace you’re at now it must be faster… right?
5. Totally Bamboo State Cutting & Serving Board
Why are we so obsessed with things cut in the shape of states we love? Because Pinterest I guess. State shaped cutting boards are fun… unless you live in Colorado or Wyoming in which case, all cutting boards are shaped like your state.
Why does this stapler make me giggle so much? Probably because Pac-Man is the best and there are so many hilarious ways you could gift this or use this in cubicle land.
I am very unashamed of my nerd status, which is why I’m secretly hoping these end up in my stocking this year. If J.R.R. Tolkien could see these he would be so proud of the future we have built… maybe.
2. Michael Scott Office Poster
Let’s just all admit right now, if you work in an office you most certainly have followed a statement with “That’s what she said”. You know you have, so just own it. If you really truly want to own it, maybe consider hanging it in your cube as a motivational poster.
1. Echo Dot
I’m not going to lie, when the Amazon home devices came out I thought it was weird. When my husband picked up an Echo Dot during a sale I was moderately annoyed. Seemed like too much money to pay for something I was only ever going to ask one question “Hey Alexa, what’s the weather going to be like today?”
I can now honestly say I am a fan, turns out there are many things Alexa can assist with (including 3rd-grade math homework). The kids love her, I love that the kids have a new person to ask 5 million questions, she’s basically the perfect gift.
